About The Position

Aircraft Carrier Machinery Engineering, Department E24, is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Manager 2 to lead the Advanced Weapons Elevator (AWE) team. Additional systems may be added over time. In this role, you will lead a team of about 15 Engineers, but are expected to be a proactive leader across Engineering, Program, Construction, and Supply Chain. AWE requires a proactive manager willing to work within and outside normal Engineering boundaries to achieve mission objectives to deliver quality Aircraft Carriers on schedule.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Background in machinery design.
Concept and Analysis experience.
Naval Shipboard Shock Design experience.
Design for manufacturing experience.

Nice To Haves

Previous CVN 78 Class machinery design experience.
Shipbuilding design, manufacturing and construction.
Working understanding of the Navy organizational structure including SOS, NAVSEA, Tycom, and Ships Crew.
Engineering and Programmatic working experience.
Cross discipline leadership to manage mechanical, electrical and software system integration.
Software Experience: Inventor, FEMAP, Matlab and MS Office Tools.
