About The Position

The Engineering Manufacturing Liaison serves as the primary technical interface between Engineer‑to‑Order (ETO) engineering teams and manufacturing operations for low and medium voltage switchgear & control products. This role ensures engineering intent is clearly translated into manufacturable, complete, and high‑quality production outputs while proactively resolving issues that impact safety, quality, cost, and delivery. The liaison works closely with the Manufacturing, COE and COD teams to support build execution, reduce rework and associated disruptions, and support continuous improvement initiatives for the operations. The liaison is the first point of escalation for manufacturing related concerns, assisting in the interpretation of complex documentation and build requirements. The liaison will provide guidance to the manufacturing team to determine how to build equipment and be the next point for further escalation to address any engineering and design related issues. For engineering or design related issues, the liaison will work with the Front End team to define the updated requirements, minimize rework and coordinate changes with the manufacturing team.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year degree or enrollment in courses that will lead to a two-year technical degree preferred but not required.
  • Equivalent knowledge and experience (minimum of ten (10) years) may be substituted for degree requirement.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing/production experience within the product line.
  • Previous experience and/or completed coursework with Autodesk products.
  • Previous experience with AS400, MCNs and/or POM.
  • Working knowledge of Eaton Lean System/Six Sigma (ELSS)
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes (punching, forming, painting, harness building)

Responsibilities

  • Act as the day‑to‑day technical point of contact between engineering and manufacturing for active manufacturing orders.
  • Clarify engineering intent, design assumptions and configuration details to manufacturing teams during build execution.
  • Support shop floor questions related to drawings, BOMs, routings, wiring, layouts, and assemblies.
  • Coordinate and support Manufacturing Change Notices (MCNs) and engineering updates during production.
  • Identify impact of manufacturing changes to upcoming orders to drive resolution prior to the start of manufacturing orders.
  • Work to standard procedures or written and oral instructions from supervisor.
  • Keen attention to details with a proven ability to spot errors and provide critical feedback
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills with required software.
  • Demonstrate a high competency on the manufacturing processes and a basic level of product knowledge.
  • Ability and desire to provide guidance (in the form of feedback and instruction) on topics on which the user is trained.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Familiar with AS400 Item Master, Item Balance and Product Structure.
  • Knowledge of plant specific wiring practices and product assemblies.
  • Proven ability to read schematic and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks/assignments to complete assignments while working with walkup questions.
  • Collaborate daily with peers and manufacturing teams.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Assist manufacturing where applicable in their efforts to improve operations, safety and quality.
