Engineering Lead - Advanced Exhaust Systems

Stellantis•Auburn Hills, MI

About The Position

The Advanced Exhaust Engineering Lead drives the early development of advanced exhaust systems by translating emerging vehicle requirements into clear system strategies and architectures. The role shapes Hot End, Cold End, and Aftertreatment solutions, leads cross-functional alignment, and applies rigorous analysis to meet emissions, NVH, thermal performance, durability, and long-term reliability standards. The position provides technical leadership for exhaust system development during the advanced and concept phases, from defining system strategy and layouts to aligning technical deliverables with vehicle program milestones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related degree field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of automotive engineering experience focused on exhaust systems.
  • Proven experience developing hot- and cold-end exhaust systems.
  • Experience with automotive exhaust development processes, including DFMEA and DV/PV testing.
  • Familiarity with exhaust system analysis tools such as CFD, GT-Power, and FEA.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as NX, CATIA, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering.
