Engineering Lead - Advanced Exhaust Systems

Stellantis•Auburn Hills, MI

About The Position

The Advanced Exhaust Engineering Lead drives early development of advanced exhaust systems by translating emerging vehicle requirements into system strategies and architectures. The role shapes Hot End, Cold End, and Aftertreatment solutions, leads cross-functional alignment, and applies rigorous analysis to ensure systems meet emissions, NVH, thermal performance, durability, and long-term reliability standards. The position leads exhaust system development during the advanced and concept phases, defining system strategy, architecture, and layout for new vehicles. It provides cross-functional technical leadership and serves as the primary interface for early-phase exhaust system development, while ensuring technical deliverables align with vehicle program timing and milestones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related degree field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of automotive engineering experience focused on exhaust systems.
  • Proven experience developing hot- and cold-end exhaust systems.
  • Experience with automotive exhaust development processes, including DFMEA and DV/PV testing.
  • Familiarity with exhaust system analysis tools such as CFD, GT-Power, and FEA.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as NX, CATIA, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering.
