About The Position

This position involves assisting the Lab Director and Lab Coordinator with various tasks related to the engineering labs. The student worker will be responsible for helping with lab setup, maintaining supplies, and ensuring students adhere to safety guidelines. They will also learn and teach others how to use equipment, maintain inventory, and complete assigned tasks. This role is crucial for the smooth operation and safety of the engineering labs and Capstone area.

Requirements

Ability to set and follow a schedule.
Must be able to work nights and Saturdays when needed.
Must be able to comply with safety protocols (training will be provided).
Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

Knowledge of Solidworks preferred

Responsibilities

Assisting Lab Director and Lab Coordinator with lab setup.
Assisting with up-keep and supply monitoring.
Responsible for following all safety guidelines and instructions.
Monitoring the Engineering Labs and Capstone area to ensure students follow all safety guidelines and instructions.
Learning and teaching how to use equipment in the shops.
Maintaining an inventory of the Labs.
Completing tasks as assigned by the lab coordinator.
Other duties as assigned.
