About The Position

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking an engineering intern to assist with Substation Engineering & Design projects for its Chicago, IL office. The intern will work with experienced engineers and designers to create electrical drawing deliverables for substation construction projects. The role is intended for a junior- or senior-level student at an accredited university working toward a BS in Engineering.

The intern works under the direction of project managers and senior engineers. Part-time work is available during the school year, with the schedule transitioning to full-time during winter and summer breaks. Mesa offers flexibility to help ensure work does not interfere with the student's school schedule.

Requirements

• Be a junior- or senior-level student at an accredited university.
• Be working toward a BS in Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Substation Engineering & Design projects.
• Work with experienced engineers and designers to create electrical drawing deliverables for substation construction projects.
• Work under the direction of project managers and senior engineers.
• Assist in preparing detailed drawings of substation wiring, electrical components, and assemblies using manual or Computer Aided Design (CAD) equipment.
• Operate peripheral equipment such as printers and plotters.
