Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America (AKBA) is seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to support the design, development, testing, and qualification of specialized equipment used in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
- Interest in equipment design, manufacturing, and engineering processes.
- Ability to work onsite in Glenview, IL.
- A collaborative, self-motivated attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and assembly of custom manufacturing equipment.
- Support equipment testing, commissioning, validation, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Create and review technical drawings, specifications, test protocols, and user manuals.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, vendors, and customers throughout project execution.
- Research new technologies and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Gain hands-on experience with equipment used in chromatography, virus filtration, and other biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
