About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern based in Cleveland, Ohio. The internship gives undergraduate and graduate students hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects, while developing technical and professional skills and providing opportunities to collaborate with experienced professionals and network. The role focuses on water and wastewater infrastructure projects and offers a broad learning experience under the guidance of an experienced engineer. The position is expected to begin in May or June 2027. In-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office is required as a condition of employment. Relocation assistance is not available.

Requirements

• Be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, and have completed at least two years of study.
• Recent bachelor’s degree graduates may apply if they were enrolled in their bachelor’s program in the most recent school term and plan to pursue a master’s degree in the same or a similar discipline after the internship.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• A valid U.S. driver’s license is required for visits to project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, and basic hydraulic modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Support assessments, planning, design, and construction administration for water and wastewater infrastructure projects under an experienced engineer.
• Participate in site visits and client meetings.
• Attend internal networking events.
• Complete assigned duties that provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience and develop hands-on skills in the intern’s field of study.
