Engineering intern

Interstates•Cincinnati, OH

About The Position

A Design Services intern supports Interstates with a variety of tasks and projects while gaining hands-on experience in industrial electrical design and construction. The role offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, build electrical-construction vocabulary, and participate in current projects. Interns gain exposure to an electrical discipline as well as business operations, project management, safety, and other career-relevant skills. Each internship focuses on one discipline: Studies, Power, PDP (Planning Design & Prefab), Controls, Instrumentation, or Field. The specific work may include power-system studies and reports; electrical distribution planning and drawings; constructible prefabrication plans and 3D BIM models; automation control panels, schematics, and wiring diagrams; evaluating process diagrams and selecting measurement and control devices; or supporting design/build work on-site. Travel to job sites or shops may be required and varies according to business requirements and the internship. The intern must perform duties in compliance with organizational policy and applicable laws.
