About The Position

84 Lumber is seeking mechanical, industrial, and structural engineering interns for the summer. As an Engineering Intern on the real estate and development team, you will assist with construction, construction accounting, and maintenance activities. You will collaborate with the team and have opportunities to work with other departments at Team Headquarters. The role provides broad experience in facilities maintenance, construction, and construction accounting, and helps develop, expand, and maintain current procedures. Interns should be prepared to enter a fast-paced work environment.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Current enrollment in a related Business or Construction degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the real estate and development team with daily administrative tasks.
• Organize, maintain, and track assets and maintenance contracts.
• Learn and use the repairs and maintenance digital platform.
• Learn and use the construction management digital platform.
• Assist with estimating, quantity takeoffs, and sourcing contractors.
• Gain exposure to construction budgets and cost coding.
• Create construction schedules.
• Create construction contracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
• Process contractor invoices and progress payments.
• Interact day to day with field personnel and internal department personnel.
