About The Position

Service Wire Company, a supplier of industrial and utility wire and cable, is seeking an Engineering Intern in Phoenix, Arizona. The intern will apply basic engineering fundamentals learned in college to revamp, develop, and improve engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and manufacturing processes, with support from engineers and facility operations. The internship is intended for Spring 2027 and may continue beyond that depending on business demand and the student’s schedule. An extension after successful completion of the internship may be considered at the department manager’s discretion.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• College junior or senior standing in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or a related program.
• Experience with software such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to interact with business partners.
• Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Team-oriented and creative.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Use strategic thinking to approach problems and create solutions.
• Review production processes and materials to ensure BOMs are correct.
• Assist with time studies on the production floor.
• Recommend manufacturing improvements to management based on production-floor data.
• Document and make drawing changes with support from engineers.
• Communicate findings and project status clearly and professionally through presentations.
• Provide leadership with comprehensive reports on assignments and related projects.
• Undergo a background check in accordance with local law and regulations.
