HP IQ’s Wireless Automation and Test team validates and characterizes wireless subsystems across HP IQ products and services. The Engineering Intern will help ensure wireless applications communicate correctly with underlying wireless subsystems, conduct quality assurance on wireless software, and establish testing and characterization platforms for current products and next-generation systems. The role works at the intersection of hardware, software, and data analytics, contributing to product validation and shipping readiness. Depending on background and interests, work may focus on data analytics, software, or hardware. Data analytics work may include automating the compilation and cleanup of test data from multiple environments, creating a portal to present data on demand, developing mathematical models to identify performance changes and trends, and supporting data-driven analysis of wireless performance. Software work may include analyzing logs, validating system decisions, identifying timing issues between networking events, validating full-stack protocol behavior, checking communication between wireless software components, working with HTTP and TCP/IP, and automating log parsing. Hardware work may include using laboratory equipment to measure wireless performance, characterize RF behavior, and automate measurements with scripting. The internship is scheduled for May or June through August or September 2027; exact dates depend on candidate availability.
