HP IQ’s Wireless Automation and Test team validates and characterizes wireless subsystems across HP IQ products and services. The role focuses on verifying that wireless applications communicate correctly with underlying wireless subsystems, performing quality assurance on wireless software, and establishing testing and characterization platforms for current products and next-generation systems. The intern works across hardware, software, and data analytics to contribute to product validation and shipping readiness. Depending on background and interests, work may focus on data analytics, software, or hardware. Data analytics work includes automating compilation and cleanup of test data from multiple environments, developing a portal to present data clearly on demand, creating mathematical models to flag performance changes and trends, and supporting data-driven wireless-performance analysis. Software work includes analyzing logs, validating system decisions, identifying timing issues between networking events, validating full-stack protocol behavior, checking communication between wireless software components, and potentially working with HTTP, TCP/IP, and log-parsing automation. Hardware work includes using lab equipment to measure wireless performance and characterize RF behavior, and helping automate measurements through scripting. This is a student internship scheduled for May/June through August/September 2027; exact dates depend on candidate availability. HP IQ describes a flexible work environment, but does not specify a workplace type.
