About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking an Engineering Field Technician I to join their Building & Construction team in Dupont, WA. This role involves performing a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision. The Building and Construction division focuses on architecture, engineering, and construction disciplines, offering innovative product and project solutions, as well as risk management and quality assurance services for new developments, existing assets, and facilities. Intertek aims to bring quality, safety, and sustainability to life through its Total Quality Assurance approach.

Requirements

  • Nuclear Gauge Operator Certification (APNGA or equivalent)
  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (hearing) and to make discriminations in sound
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally and be able to walk/stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
  • Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights
  • Ability to work over night hours and off shift
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
  • Ability and willingness to work off shift and overtime as needed
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to U.S. Government contract requirements.
  • Must successfully complete all applicable Navy installation access and background screening requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year Construction Materials / Density Testing experience
  • ACI Field Technician I certification or other construction related certifications

Responsibilities

  • Operate testing equipment and conduct construction testing (e.g., Soil, concrete, asphalt, or other).
  • Provide assessment of data through reporting.
  • Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
  • Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
  • Communicate effectively with client and project teams.
