About The Position

This rotational Engineering Development Program (EDP) offers individuals the chance to gain enriching experiences and work alongside experienced engineers to accelerate their careers. Participants will complete five rotations over a three-year period at Eaton's Waukesha, South Milwaukee, and/or Franksville, WI sites, with initial start dates in January or June 2027. Relocation assistance, including a lump sum payment, will be provided for qualifying candidates. The program aims to provide a diverse range of engineering experience across various product lines and functions within two Eaton divisions, fostering a deep understanding of core engineering competencies and a holistic view of the company's technology-driven solutions. Opportunities may include rotations in Testing, Product Line Support, Design, project management, and manufacturing engineering, with assignments tailored to individual skillsets and development goals. Eaton's engineering teams are dedicated to designing more efficient, reliable, safe, and sustainable products and services. With multiple facilities and a significant employee presence in Wisconsin, Eaton offers state-of-the-art laboratories and manufacturing access to serve utility, commercial, and industrial customers.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering at an accredited institution with a graduation date in May 2027.
• Minimum 2.8 GPA. Please do not round.

• Must be geographically flexible to relocate within the United States

Nice To Haves

• Prior Eaton Engineering co-op or internship experience.
• Experience using 3D CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global design and manufacturing teams.
• Assist with performing mechanical, electrical, and environmental testing.
• Develop, improve, and sustain product design and product definition data (3D models, drawings, bills of materials, product & material specifications).
• Support production and manufacturing engineering including prototype and pilot builds.
• Learn and perform engineering analysis and digital simulation leveraging advanced tools (CAD, FEA, statistical tolerance analysis, computational analysis MATLAB, etc.).
• Learn and utilize design techniques to drive design optimization in cost, manufacturing, and assembly.
• Develop sub-system verification tests, which include defining test methods and procedures and designing and developing custom fixtures.
