Engineering Design Technician
About The Position
IMS Gear is seeking an Engineering Design Technician to support innovative gear technology solutions in a collaborative manufacturing environment. The role works closely with customers and engineering, sales, and production teams to develop new products and applications. The technician supports product design, development, and custom engineering projects; creates and modifies 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings; and develops and maintains Bills of Materials and technical documentation. The position also involves reviewing specifications, troubleshooting design issues, identifying technical solutions with customers and internal teams, and supporting project execution. Duties may change or be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering design, or a related technical field.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Create and modify 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
- Support product design, development, and custom engineering projects.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to identify technical solutions.
- Review specifications, troubleshoot design issues, and support project execution.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and customer service teams.
