About The Position

Compact Automation Products, part of the ITT family of companies, specializes in technical solutions for specific application needs, supplying customers with the latest technologies in Hydraulic Cylinders, Air Cylinders, and Linear Actuators. With a wide range of bore sizes and force capabilities, their products are known for being small, powerful, and easy to repair. They also excel in customizing standard cylinder designs. This rotational co-op position offers impactful opportunities in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality, located in Westminster, SC. The program provides co-ops with hands-on project management experience, guided by the Engineering Manager, with projects tailored to student interests and business needs. These projects aim to develop new skills and require involvement in areas beyond traditional engineering, such as machining, assembly, and quality. The program emphasizes experiencing aspects of an engineering career not learned in the classroom, with coaching and mentorship. This position requires access to information subject to ITAR, and all applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR.

Requirements

Enrolled in an Engineering program with a minimum 2.50 GPA.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse and global employees, including the ability to motivate and energize.
Must have a thirst for learning and passion for solving complex problems.
Ability to work in a combination office and assembly/machining environment.
Must wear safety glasses and safety shoes.
Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

Responsibilities

Update Manufacturing work instruction manuals.
Work with Operations Management, Engineering and Quality to investigate and capture priorities and tasks.
Use Excel and MS Word to track and update project documents.
Concept and Create 3D models, production drawings, and Bill of Materials.
Complete analysis of Customer applications and Manufacturing requirements.
Participate in product testing and product development.
Assist in manufacturing process improvement projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
