About The Position

Boeing is seeking passionate and motivated Engineering Co-ops for its Software, Industrial, Manufacturing, Reliability/Maintainability, Systems, Mechanical Systems, Structures Engineering and Wire Installation and Wire Design teams. As a participant in our Co-op at Boeing, you’ll gain hands-on experience, learn from experts, and collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things. You will be working in a challenging engineering environment that will expose you to design, development and production of aircraft. This unique experience will provide you a great opportunity to develop your engineering skills. Requirements

  • Enrolled student attending Drexel University with an expected graduation date on or after August 2027
  • Ability to intern 6 months from fall 2026 to spring 2027
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements.
  • A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering projects in space systems, military systems, commercial aircraft or technology development.
  • Support the development of plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows.
  • Participate in the evaluation of new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations.
  • Assist with designing, maintaining, and optimizing the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel.
  • Conduct basic work flow design and analysis.
  • Develop simple models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders.
  • Support the development and implementation of production and tooling methodologies.
  • Participate as a member of our production team to support the integration of technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
  • Support the development, identification and implementation of conceptual designs and maintenance of the program architecture for build.
  • Participate in the implementation of manufacturing plans.
  • Investigate technical problems.
  • Participate in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies.
  • Interface with IPTs and internal customers to develop products, skills, knowledge and experience.
  • Learn and perform Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) tasks such as Predictions, Allocations, Failure Mode & Effect Analyses, R&M testing, and Failure Review, Corrective Action and Maintainability Analysis.
  • Perform maintenance, health and optimization of engineering systems which track, monitor, report, and statistically model design changes.
  • Engage in initiatives to streamline inefficiencies through the use of automation and assist in analyses of Product Assurance and System Effectiveness.
  • Assist in the development and integration of complex systems across the Boeing company.
  • Involve system requirements definition and documentation, verification planning, validation execution and cross-functional collaboration on design solutions and analyses.
  • Develop, integrate and document structural requirements to establish the system design.
  • Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.
  • Guide product design and verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
  • Develop test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
  • Support in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.
  • Develop and maintain basic cable/wire harness and equipment detail and assembly designs.
  • Assist with engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
  • Develop and maintain basic electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).
  • Follow documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
  • Collect data to support the development of statements of work.
  • Assist in data gathering of supplier capabilities.
  • Review functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture.
