About The Position

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a motivated student to join its Transportation Group for a Spring 2027 Engineering Co-op. The co-op provides hands-on experience in roadway design, traffic, and transportation planning under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers. Each co-op is assigned a dedicated supervisor. The role supports project work while developing familiarity with industry practices, codes, laws, and engineering systems, including OpenRoads. KCI is a 100% employee-owned engineering, consulting, and construction firm serving clients throughout the United States. Requirements

Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited college engineering program.
Valid driver's license.
Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment.
No previous experience is required.

Responsibilities

Use engineering software to design and perform roadway calculations.
Assist with technical reporting, documentation, and presentations that summarize design analysis and recommendations for the team and clients.
Gather data and perform site analysis during routine project site visits.
Assist in developing project-specific engineering plans, drawings, and models.
Interact with the engineering team and project managers to support projects.
Learn industry-specific best practices, codes, and laws.
Utilize and gain familiarity with new systems, including OpenRoads.
