About The Position

The Student Engineering Assistant will support the Engineering team with documentation management, coordination, and administrative engineering tasks. This role is focused on maintaining organized technical records, supporting internal workflows, and assisting engineers and designers with non‑design tasks to improve overall team efficiency. This position is ideal for students seeking exposure to engineering operations, documentation systems, and project coordination within a manufacturing or technical environment.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related program
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with Excel and digital file management systems
  • Ability to follow structured processes and standardized naming conventions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with team members
  • Basic familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar)
  • Experience with shared document environments (e.g., SharePoint or similar systems)
  • Exposure to technical documentation or engineering drawings

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize engineering documentation (drawings, PDFs, and records)
  • Update and track document revisions, file naming, and storage structures
  • Assist with preparing and formatting engineering documents for release
  • Manage and update spreadsheets and tracking tools (e.g., Excel, SharePoint)
  • Coordinate and follow up on document status with engineers and team members
  • Support document linking, referencing, and cross‑navigation (e.g., PDF bookmarks)
  • Perform basic CAD‑related tasks where required (minor edits, formatting support)
  • Assist with general administrative and coordination tasks within the engineering team
