About The Position

EMCOR Government Services is hiring an Engineer at ICCB in Bethesda, Maryland. The Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of plant equipment during their watch. The role operates and maintains one or more systems that provide facility services such as heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, steam or high-temperature water, or electricity. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement for Local 99.

Requirements

Must have a First Class Engineer's License.
Must have or be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with a Fullscope Polygraph.
Experience and demonstrated ability to safely secure hydronic and electrical systems for maintenance.
Experience and demonstrated ability to braze or solder copper pipe and thread black pipe.
Basic carpentry skills.
Must be skilled in repairing electronic control equipment.
Able to continually bend, squat, kneel, lift, twist, climb, reach, stand, and walk during an eight-hour day.
Able to use hands for repetitive pushing, pulling, and single-grasp motions.
Able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and move objects weighing more than 100 pounds.
Able to travel by government or company vehicle to the work location or other destinations as required.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate and maintain all equipment in the plant during the assigned watch.
Operate and maintain systems that provide heat, air conditioning, refrigeration, steam or high-temperature water, or electricity.
Observe and interpret gauges, meters, and charts; adjust controls to ensure safe, efficient operation and meet service demands.
Record operating information in system logs.
Keep engines, machinery, and system equipment in good working order.
May direct and coordinate other workers performing tasks related to operating and maintaining the systems.
