About The Position

The Engineer performs a variety of hotel maintenance trade functions, including installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment and HVAC systems; painting; repairing walls and tile; and maintaining the property's preventative maintenance program. The role works closely with other team members and calls for an engaging attitude, adaptability, and attention to detail. The Engineer performs general maintenance on building and facility mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; handles repairs to appliances, house wiring, air-conditioning systems, plumbing fixtures, piping, drains, and sanitary systems; repairs woodwork, wall vinyl, doors, windows, and carpeting; and carries out mechanical maintenance on pumps, compressors, water heaters, automotive equipment, and other equipment. The position also requires maintaining task logs and records and submitting requested reports in a timely manner. The role is based at Arlo Wynwood, a hotel in Miami's Wynwood neighborhood with guest rooms, meeting and event space, restaurants, bars, a café, and a rooftop pool and bar.

Requirements

• Experience working in a maintenance role at a hotel or resort.
• Knowledge of household repairs, including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work.
• Engaging and welcoming personality.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for creating an exceptional guest experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to walk, stand, reach, crouch, bend, and push or pull throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance of building and facility mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Repair appliances, house wiring, air-conditioning systems, switches, fixtures, and motors.
• Repair plumbing fixtures, piping, drains, and sanitary systems.
• Repair woodwork, wall vinyl, doors, windows, carpeting, and similar items.
• Perform mechanical maintenance on pumps, compressors, water heaters, automotive equipment, and other miscellaneous equipment.
• Install, maintain, and repair equipment and HVAC systems; perform painting, wall repair, tile work, and other maintenance trade tasks.
• Maintain the hotel's preventative maintenance program.
• Keep required company records and logs of completed tasks, prepare reports as requested, and submit reports and logs on time.
