Air Force Civilian Career Training•Little Rock AFB, AR

About The Position

The Air Force Civilian Service Force Renewal Programs recruit students and recent graduates with management and leadership potential for careers as federal employees. Participants receive training and developmental opportunities to build competence and prepare for required training and developmental assignments. This announcement covers Civil Engineer (GS-0810), Mechanical Engineer (GS-0830), and Electrical Engineer (GS-0850) positions at the GS-07 and GS-09 levels. At GS-07, engineers perform specific, limited assignments that are generally minor phases of broader engineering work. They use computer software, including information management, computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), and project-tracking programs; help coordinate work with other engineers and architects; and follow health, safety, and environmental procedures. At GS-09, engineers participate in design for new construction, renovations, and improvements to real property facilities and utility systems. They prepare or contribute to architect and engineer statements of work, coordinate with other engineering disciplines and architects, and keep current with emerging technologies. Alongside design work, they may less frequently perform construction management, programming and base development, or operations and maintenance work. They must comply with applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements. Positions are Air Force-wide and may be permanent or term, with full-time or part-time schedules. Pay varies by geographic location. Selected candidates must complete applicable training and regulatory requirements, maintain required certifications, meet federal suitability requirements, and obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. Mobility may be required during or after training, and occasional travel away from the normal duty station may be required.
