About The Position

The Engineer contributes to company objectives in reactor physics and technology and is intended to develop into a subject matter expert in computational methods development and coding, numerical analysis, and thermal-hydraulics for reactor modeling tools. The role supports software documentation and validation, user training, and customer interfacing for the GVH thermal-hydraulics code TRACG. The role is part of the Thermal-Hydraulic Methods (THM) team, which develops, maintains, analyzes, provides technical consultation for, and supports licensing stewardship of engineering computer codes, correlations, and methodologies for Boiling Water Reactors (BWRs) and Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). The team also supports customers on reactor neutronics, thermal-hydraulics, and instrumentation physics, and contributes to the nuclear and thermal-hydraulic design of new fuel products. The position supports the technical development, qualification, testing, verification, regulatory licensing, and maintenance of analytical methods used to evaluate steady-state and transient core and fuel performance. Work is carried out within an approved nuclear software quality-assurance framework and in accordance with NRC rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality standards. The role prepares and presents technical information, supports users through documentation and training, coordinates with team members and leadership on projects, contributes to process improvements, and may support interfaces with regulatory agencies including the NRC and DOE. The preferred location is GE Vernova’s headquarters in Wilmington, North Carolina, with hybrid arrangements available, or its Atlanta, Georgia hub. The posting also identifies the position as remote. Relocation assistance is provided. U.S. work authorization is required, and the employer will not sponsor work visas. Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required, and any applicable offer is contingent on obtaining government authorization.
