About The Position

This wide-ranging position supports systems used in studio production and transmission. The ideal candidate can learn independently, evaluate and improve systems, troubleshoot effectively, and understand signal flow and production tools. The role supports studio production, postproduction, television graphics, and transmission systems in a live television environment. It requires a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and regular attendance at the assigned work location.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience supporting studio and postproduction environments.
• Experience supporting production switchers, multiviewer systems, large-scale audio consoles, and intercom systems.
• Basic computer and networking skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn.
• Advanced knowledge of current and future television systems and formats, including SMPTE 2110.
• Understanding of fiber-optic and copper networking technologies.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to sit, stand, and kneel for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and auditory acuity needed to effectively create required work product.
• Prompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.
• Self-starter and team player.
• Detail-oriented and meticulous, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Tact, diplomacy, decisiveness, and superior people skills for a pressurized live television environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of experience.

Nice To Haves

• AutoCAD knowledge.
• Understanding of video compression standards including MPEG2, H.264/AVC, and HEVC.
• Understanding of video transmission protocols and formats including MPEG2 transport stream, SCTE35, ASI, RTP, SRT, and RIST.
