About The Position

The Engineer is responsible for upkeep, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and general maintenance in accordance with Shaner Hotels and franchise standards. The role focuses on ice machines, refrigeration units, industrial chiller systems, and air handling units. The ideal applicant is customer-service oriented and willing to go the extra mile to create a memorable guest experience. This is a full-time position with benefits. Evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience; hotel experience is preferred.
• Strong background in commercial refrigeration and knowledge of ice machines, industrial chiller systems, and air handling units.
• Basic working knowledge of general maintenance procedures.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment critical to building operations and proper chemical handling and disposal.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for work assignments.
• Ability to interact positively with hotel personnel and provide prompt solutions to problems.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, perform preventive maintenance on, and troubleshoot ice machines, refrigeration units, air handling units, industrial chiller systems, and other equipment.
• Perform general maintenance in accordance with Shaner Hotels and franchise standards.
• Handle guest complaints and work to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Maintain quality and cleanliness standards throughout daily assignments.
• Follow maintenance programs and cleaning schedules.
• Observe house rules, safety rules, departmental procedures, and security procedures.
• Assist with inventories as scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
