About The Position

The Systems Mechanical Engineer – Balance of Plant (BOP) provides expert-level technical support for the operation, maintenance, testing, and modification of assigned systems and programs. The role reviews system, component, and program performance; recommends and implements changes; monitors compliance; trends system and component performance; conducts system walk-downs; manages corrective actions; and maintains the preventive maintenance program. The engineer serves as the technical conscience and reliability champion for assigned systems, helping ensure equipment is reliable and ready to support nuclear safety and plant generation. The position is within the Systems Engineering Department and works extensively with other Engineering departments, Operations, Maintenance, Work Control, and Chemistry. BOP systems are associated with the plant’s secondary side, including turbine systems, the main generator, condensate, feedwater, cooling/service water, and radwaste interfaces.
