About The Position

The Total Product Support (TPS) Engineer is responsible for providing system-level technical support for advanced CMP platforms across development and customer environments. This role plays a critical part in first tool deployments, and sustaining engineering, ensuring successful transition from development to high-volume manufacturing. The TPS Engineer works cross-functionally with manufacturing, field service, and customers to drive tool performance, reliability, and continuous product improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with CMP semiconductor equipment
  • Proven ability in troubleshooting complex system-level issues and driving resolution
  • Experience working across engineering, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams
  • Familiarity with tool installations, qualifications, and production ramp support
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using performance metrics and analytics to drive improvements
  • Ability to operate independently as a technical authority in high-pressure situations
  • 8+ years of semiconductor equipment experience (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills at system level
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and customer-facing environments
  • Software Knowledge
  • Ability to travel internationally as required
  • Experience with CMP, polishing, or similar wafer processing equipment
  • Familiarity with tool install, and qualification processes
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and fab operations
  • Prior experience supporting global customers or high-volume manufacturing
  • The Total Product Engineer must be able to work close to the tool, understand customer urgency, organize incomplete data, communicate facts versus hypotheses, partner tightly with Field Service Engineers, and keep customer-facing problems moving without overclaiming root cause or creating uncontrolled risk.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a system-level technical expert for advanced CMP platforms across development and customer environments
  • Support new product introductions (NPI), including first builds, qualification, and First‑In‑Fab deployments
  • Lead advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex tool and process issues beyond first-line support
  • Drive continuous improvement by feeding field learnings back into engineering, influencing design and process changes
  • Partner cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, and field service teams to ensure seamless product performance
  • Support customers globally, including escalation management and direct engagement during critical issues
  • Develop strategies to improve tool uptime, reliability, and total cost of ownership (TCO)
  • Contribute to development of procedures, documentation, and training materials for field teams
  • Own resolution of high-impact escalations affecting customer production
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to field and support teams
  • Influence product roadmap through deep understanding of field performance and customer needs
  • Lead global initiatives to improve reliability, serviceability, and product performance
