About The Position

Oxbo Forage is seeking an Engineer Technician to support research and development projects in the engineering department. We are seeking an individual who is willing and eager to learn and has a passion for agriculture.

Requirements

  • Ability to fabricate parts, weld, and understand electrical/hydraulic systems
  • Welding to account for ~30% of the work
  • Ability to learn new procedures with little instruction/guidance
  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • Knowledge of 6S practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and improvise as necessary
  • Ability to climb into tractors and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing environment
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills needed to communicate with engineers and test partners
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time to test sites or customer visits.
  • Willing to learn how to use HBM for data acquisition
  • Occasional use of Microsoft Office and Solidworks E Drawings
  • Ability to read weld drawings is a must
  • Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • A passion for agriculture

Nice To Haves

  • A technical degree is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and building new prototype products for the engineering
  • Appropriately install new parts on machines in preparation for testing
  • Provide test feedback via the DRL system
  • Diagnose machinery issues with direction from engineering
  • Communicate effectively with engineers and test partners
  • Maintain good relationships with test partners
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
  • Adheres to company quality protocols and processes
  • Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the H&S handbook
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by R&D lead
  • Drive 6S activities in the R&D shop
