About The Position
Holder Construction is seeking an Engineer Technician in Training to join their Operations team for a project in Culpepper, VA. This is a full-time position that offers on-the-job training. The role involves assisting Field Engineers with surveying instruments, performing construction layout, and maintaining survey equipment. The position requires a high degree of ownership, professionalism, and critical thinking to support field supervision and ensure daily tasks are completed at the jobsite.
Requirements
- Must be able to work overtime and weekend hours.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Punctuality and promptness are required every day.
- Individuals must be able to work in an OSHA compliant safety environment.
- Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities
- Assisting Field Engineers in operating robotic total station instruments, auto level and other surveying instruments.
- Perform construction layout by setting stakes, marking lines, elevations, grades, and reference points.
- Maintain total station, field book, survey equipment and tools.
- Provide primary support to our field supervision and must demonstrate ownership of assigned tasks, maintain professionalism, and use critical thinking to solve issues and lead team to complete daily tasks at the jobsite.
