About The Position

Venture Global LNG is seeking a System Planning Engineer located in Houston. Reporting to the Director of System Planning, the engineer will collaborate with Pipeline Control, Operations, and Project teams to support operational planning, system optimization, and expansion project modeling. The role helps ensure sound technical decisions that enhance system performance, reliability, and long-term business objectives.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and PC skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of fluid dynamics and gas pipeline hydraulics.
• Hydraulic modeling experience for gas pipelines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to translate complex technical data into actionable business insights.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with DVNGL Synergi Gas Modeling Software.
• Professional Engineering License is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex hydraulic modeling to support real-time operations and optimize system throughput, including steady-state and transient simulations.
• Execute detailed expansion studies to identify facility alternatives and optimize designs for infrastructure growth and capacity increases.
• Provide technical documentation and reports summarizing study results and recommendations for senior leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams to align system planning with operational execution.
• Work with pipeline control, operations, and commercial functions to evaluate hydraulic impacts and help plan system outages.
• Develop new tools and provide training and support to enhance the organization's hydraulic modeling capabilities.
• Apply knowledge of pipeline operations, system requirements, and the gas transmission project development process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
