About The Position

This Co-Op is suited for a junior student in the Engineering field who wants to work full time during one semester and the summer months the following year. American Crystal Sugar Company offers an environment that will expose a Co-Op student to a variety of engineering-related situations, as well as experience in a business setting. This program was designed to offer the Engineering student engineering-related situations during various phases of the business operation. Possible Co-Op Work Locations include Moorhead, MN; East Grand Forks, MN; Crookston, MN; Drayton, ND; and Hillsboro, ND.

Requirements

• Junior in a Bachelor’s level Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering program
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Must be able to attend the full time Co-Op Program from January through August
• Effective time management & organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong independent initiative

Nice To Haves

• May be available for a summer internship the following summer for students who have completed the Co-Op.
• Individuals that have progressed through the Co-Op and Intern level may be considered for the Engineering Program.
• Engineer candidates must have completed their degree before entering the Engineer Program.

Responsibilities

• Work full time during one semester and the summer months.
• Gain exposure to a variety of engineering-related situations.
• Gain experience in a business setting.
• Participate in engineering-related situations during various phases of the business operation.

• American Crystal Sugar Company will pay for student co-op credits/fees.
• Earn 1 hour of Earned Sick and Safe Time for every 30 hours worked (up to 48 hours per year).
• Receive pay for regularly scheduled hours on company observed holidays.
