About The Position

Samsung Electronics America Inc. is seeking an Engineer, Software Quality Engineering in Mountain View, CA. This role involves performing user experience reviews, test automation, and software specification reviews to enhance operations. The engineer will write and optimize test cases, design usability test scenarios, assess software bugs, and build automated test scripts to support the expansion of global eCommerce offerings. Key responsibilities include performing integration testing with Samsung partners, adding automation tests using frameworks to prevent regression issues, identifying test data and cases for automation in microservices, and driving multiple fulfillment partner projects. This involves managing the complexities of integrating distributed systems, including API integration, data synchronization, and testing for usability, compatibility, and performance. The role also requires developing robust testing strategies to proactively identify and address potential integration issues before they affect customers or business operations, identifying failure scenarios prior to integration testing, and reviewing/assessing partner API documentation to find potential gaps and necessary adaptations for new partners. The engineer will conduct required integration testing throughout various test cycles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and eight years of experience in the job offered or another related occupation.
  • Eight years of experience in coding with at least two of the following: Java, Javascript, Typescript, or NodeJS.
  • Eight years of experience in Agile Testing Quadrants.
  • Six years of experience in automation on web.
  • Three years of experience in automation on mobile apps.
  • Three years of experience in e-commerce domains purchase journey.
  • Three years of experience in Mocha test framework and Postgres.
  • Two years of experience with TestRail.
  • Two years of experience with ElasticSearch.
  • Two years of experience with LightHouse.
  • Two years of experience with ReportPortal.
  • One year of hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases PostgreSQL and CockroachDB.
  • One year of experience implementing test plan and test cases resulting in high test coverage.
  • One year of hands-on experience working with release engineering tools including Jenkins, Jira, and AWS cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform user experience reviews, test automation, and software specification reviews to expand and improve operations.
  • Write and optimize test cases to improve the efficiency of software by maximizing the success of software testing.
  • Design test scenarios for usability.
  • Assess software bugs and build automated test scripts with the overall goal of expanding global eCommerce offerings.
  • Perform integration testing to drive end-to-end integration testing with all Samsung partners to deliver the product on time.
  • Add automation tests using frameworks to avoid regression issues.
  • Identify the test data and cases to be automated in each micro service.
  • Drive multiple fulfillment partner projects forward while accounting for the complexities involved in integrating distributed systems, including API integration, data synchronization between multiple systems, testing for usability, compatibility and performance.
  • Develop robust testing strategies to identify and address potential integration issues before they impact customers or business operations during the validation phase.
  • Identify failure scenarios before the integration testing.
  • Review and assess partner API documentation and identify the potential gaps during integration.
  • Identify adaptations that require specific changes to integrate with new partners.
  • Conduct required integration testing during the different test cycles.
