About The Position

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for performing Internal and External Quality Assurance Audits (repair station and vendors), to ensure compliance with processes, policies, procedures, and quality standards. Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) required.

Requirements

  • Valid AME M2 license
  • Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations and Cargojet Maintenance Policies and Procedures
  • Must have a minimum combined 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and Adobe programs.
  • Knowledge of auditing procedures and excellent working knowledge of airline standards and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, autonomous and very motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all work is performed to Cargojet’s quality standards, policies & procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct internal and external base audits, vendor audits as required by Cargojet’s Quality Assurance Program.
  • Monitor maintenance activities and ensure appropriate manuals are adhered to for all maintenance locations.
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance Program, including accomplishing audits & on-going evaluation of program effectiveness.
  • Assist/interact with external auditors performing audits at Cargojet (i.e. IATA Certification) and represent Cargojet in a professional manner.
  • Responsible for administering the calibrated tool and equipment program, ensuring all tools, lifting devices, safety equipment, and measurement instruments are properly controlled, calibrated, certified, and compliant with regulatory, OEM, and company requirements.
  • Oversees tool inventory, calibration intervals, inspections, audits, and investigations of out of tolerance equipment while maintaining records, coordinating vendors, and reporting program performance to the Director, Quality & Safety.
  • Promote the SDR (Service Difficulty Reporting), MIR (Maintenance Irregularity Reporting)
  • Knowledge and understanding of safety issues, including the support of the SMS program.
  • Work in collaboration with Line Maintenance, provide technical guidance and assistance (i.e., Coaching and Training on aircraft document-related issues).
  • Attend and participate in a variety of production and team meetings, as assigned.
  • Prepare monthly reports communicating key performance indicators and initiating investigations for root cause analysis where reliability actions are required.
  • Maintain quality documents and files, including inspections, rework, and product certifications, per the Quality System.
  • Provide Quality input for revisions to the standards and procedures contained in Cargojet’s manuals and the implementation of new procedures.
  • Support the compliance monitoring of Stores and Material Control functions.
  • Monitor MEL and defect rectifications are entered in logbooks in accordance with Cargojet’s policies and procedures.
  • Serve as an interim quality liaison for Maintenance quality investigations and corrective actions.
  • Initiate Non-conformance Reports (NCR), investigate the cause, and take corrective actions as part of a team.
  • Stay current with all company and regulatory training required to function in the assigned role.
  • Travel and work outside of regular shift hours required for auditing and other job assignments when required.
  • Ensure a clean and safe workplace for team members.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and safety/security policies, procedures and standards.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director, Quality and Safety
  • Perform other duties incidental to the work described herein.
