About The Position

ASRC Federal NetCentric is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. This role involves maintaining and executing a quality control program within an ISO 9001 compliant environment. The engineer will participate in and lead process improvements, identify activities to enhance contract performance, and interface with customers to understand expectations and meet performance criteria. Responsibilities include conducting quality and safety audits, evaluating data to make informed decisions and recommend procedural changes, and assessing contractor performance against customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Requires a BS/BA degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, Organizational Management, Operations Management or related field.
  • Equivalent education/experience is applicable.
  • Requires two (2) to four (4) years of related experience.
  • Audit experience or training required.
  • Exposure to OSHA or DOD safety requirements.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated performance required.
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Effectively present information to management, customers, or peers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • US Citizenship required for obtaining a security clearance.
  • Current Florida Driver License.

Nice To Haves

  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training or equivalent desirable.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 & AS9100 standards desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and occasionally lead process improvements.
  • Identify and initiate activities that improve contract performance.
  • Interface with customer to understand customer expectations and meet contract performance criteria.
  • Conduct audits and surveillance for quality and safety aspects.
  • Evaluate data to draw conclusions, make decisions, and recommend changes in contract procedures and practices.
  • Evaluate contractor performance against customer requirements and recommend changes.
  • Interpret customer requirements; measure, monitor, and report contract performance metrics against customer criteria.
  • Create, maintain, and analyze internal metrics to identify trends.
  • Prepare and validate Maximo Reports to create accurate Monthly Performance Summary Reports.
  • Participate in customer meetings; identify, offer and implement contract performance improvements including process improvements, root cause analysis, measures/metrics, etc.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance inspections, perform audits and surveillance and follow through on resulting actions.
  • Perform as Quality Witness for weight handling equipment and rigging proof testing.
  • Maintain customer focus and responsiveness to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • May include managing hazardous materials or other environmental responsibilities.
  • May be required to participate in preparation, ride-out, and recovery actions following natural disasters.
  • May be asked to support hurricane preparations and recovery activities.
  • Perform work in compliance with Federal, State, local, NASA and Air Force laws, regulations and requirements including energy management, conservation, regulations, security, safety, hurricane and other specialized programs or contractual requirements relating to the business of the section, working within the limits of established policy.
