The Quality Assurance Engineer will support all departments in First Article / PPAP data collection and submission, new launch capability studies, and other requested support. This role is responsible for compiling PPAP and First Article submission documentation on assigned programs and participating in the APQP process to ensure the feasibility of the design and process to produce the product as specified. The engineer will address quality issues including GD&T, gauge design, testing requirements, capability studies, statistical methods, and Advanced Quality Plans. They will also recommend designation of KPC’s and KCC’s, support APQP activities and trials, and participate in cross-functional team activities. This role champions customer, internal, and supplier corrective and preventive actions, carries out receiving inspection, and manages various Quality Records. The engineer will coordinate and participate in dimensional evaluations, Gauge Accuracy, Repeatability and Reproducibility Studies, and process capability studies. Training operators and quality inspectors, carrying out dock audits, and interacting with customers and suppliers are also key responsibilities. The role maintains the ISO 9000 system, participates in internal audits, collects and reports KPI data, completes ISO procedure revisions, reviews NCRs, maintains rework and scrap analysis, and organizes equipment and gauge calibration. Compliance with operational procedures, policies, and quality/environment programs (IATF, ISO 14001) is required. Other duties as assigned.
