Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in water and/or wastewater engineering in areas such as evaluating, planning, designing, and constructing municipal and industrial water/wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, wastewater conveyance and water distribution systems
  • 3 years of water or wastewater engineering project experience
  • PE license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months
  • Possessing a strong understanding of the construction industry in general, and construction materials testing and special inspection services specifically
  • Interest in Project management - tracking scope, schedule, quality, and budget
  • Interest in Business Development - Identifying, attracting, and securing a new, diverse client base
  • The ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains associated with construction projects
  • Valid driver’s license, a clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • Lead project management and process design for new water/wastewater treatment facilities, lift stations, review existing water/wastewater treatment facilities, prepare reports for proposed equipment/systems upgrades and replacements, and present your findings to clients and regulatory agencies
  • Conduct business development and develop client relationships in the water/wastewater industry
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply various treatment technologies, equipment, and processes to optimize performance or ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and apply the results to water/wastewater treatment plant configurations
  • Develop specifications and drawings such as process flow diagrams (PFDs) and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for senior drafting technicians
  • Assess impact of changing DOH, EPA and MPCA regulations for specific client needs
  • Travel to client and vendor locations for design reviews, field verification of designs, proposal presentations, and business development activities
