About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Geological Engineering, the person in this role will be an important member of a highly experienced team of geotechnical professionals in EVR’s central Technical Services group who apply leading practices to support safe production at multiple open pit steelmaking coal operations in complex ground conditions, investigation and design work for future mining areas, and the geotechnical aspects of reclamation and closure work for non-operating sites. This role provides a wide range of skills development and experience including slope performance monitoring, geotechnical analyses, design work for pit slopes and waste rock dumps, geotechnical hazard identification and risk management. The work includes collaboration with central and site-based senior geotechnical engineers, mining engineers, and other disciplines. To be successful, we are looking for someone who has a learning mindset along with an interest in being an active participant in EVR’s geotechnical community of practice (approx. 30 personnel across EVR’s site-based and central teams) to help drive continuous improvement in EVR’s geotechnical practices. Join us in one of our breathtaking locations —Calgary, AB, or Sparwood, BC. With a compressed work week and alternating Fridays off, experience what true work-life balance is all about!
