About The Position

Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems. Coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program. Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.

Requirements

Lead Test Engineer (LTE) or Ship Safety Officer (SSO) or Watch Supervisor or Watch Officer Certification or Trade REC Coordinator (TRC) and Trade REC Oversight Agent (TROA) Certification and 4 years of relevant professional/exempt experience.

Responsibilities

Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints.
Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems.
Coordinates integrated testing activities.
Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program.
Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
Serve as the liaison between Work Control and the CTE.
Maintain an accurate LTE Log as required and conduct thorough shift turnovers.
Coordinate between Ship’s Force, Project, Work Controls, and Test to ensure adequate conditions are set to begin testing (e.g., TWDs are signed off, danger tags are not hanging, etc.).
Assist as necessary with Test Interruptions. In the event of a Test Interruption, ensure all conditions and corrective actions have been completed prior to resuming testing.
Stop any test or operation and ensure the system is placed in a safe condition when problems develop that have or could result in unsafe conditions.
Ensure timely actions are taken to place systems in a safe condition if abnormal or unexpected conditions or operating parameters occur during the performance of testing or system operations.
Keep all organizations involved with testing informed of conditions that could result in the delay of testing (e.g., outstanding work issued on the system to be tested).
Prepare and issue prerequisite lists for key events when required.
Attend or conduct pre-shift and pre-event briefings as assigned.
Track and report metrics associated with Work Control performance for their assigned project (e.g., work authorization problems, tag-out problems, unplanned events relating to Work Control, etc.).
Report directly to the E25 Work Control Supervisor for their assigned project.
Serve as an on-the-scene representative to ensure that work control is ready to support testing and key events.
Review Testing WAF tag-outs.
Attend Testing Meetings as necessary or assigned.
