As an Engineering Intern, you will play an essential role within our Anchorage Engineering department, reporting to the Engineering Supervisor. Under direct supervision, the Engineering Intern provides assistance and support to ENSTAR's Engineering department with regard to file maintenance, project design/management, and conceptual level drawings.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum second year engineering student.
Valid Alaska Driver's License and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the ENSTAR's Driving Policy.
Ability to pass a drug, background, credit, past employment, and driving record screening.

Responsibilities

Establish new or modify existing drawings to support estimates and system documentation using AutoCAD or Solid Works.
Organize and link project data to GIS system.
Review project files to ensure all data is in place.
Coordinate with Engineers to help develop material lists, secure material quotes, and identify applicable specifications.
Research different products from vendors.
Help engineers by working with designers/surveyors to complete drawings for a project.
May also include site visits to a proposed project to gather field information. Site visits may include flying.
Go on field site visits to monitor construction progress and to gather information required to resolve issues encountered during construction. Site visits may include flying.
Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
