About The Position

As an Operator, you will play an essential role within our Anchorage Field Construction department, reporting to the Construction & Main Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Knowledge, skill, and ability to operate heavy equipment.
  • Intermediate knowledge of construction practices and piped distribution systems; ability to perform related tasks.
  • Ability to work safely.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively interact with individuals within and outside of ENSTAR.
  • Ability to wear and use ENSTAR's approved Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
  • Ability to be self-directed, perform successfully in a multi-task environment, and effectively contribute individually, or as part of a team.
  • Apply knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations.
  • Ability to learn and understand ENSTAR's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Responsibilities

  • Operate power construction equipment to install gas lines.
  • Excavate, move, and grade earth; transport and dump loose materials such as brush, stumps, and classified material.
  • Perform duties related to the installation and maintenance of the gas distribution system, including plastic pipe fusion and pipe wrapping.
  • Assist in loading pipe onto trucks or trailers.
  • Assist in unloading shipments of incoming pipe and materials.
  • Assist in maneuvering fusion or other equipment around job site.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
