As an Operator, you will play an essential role within our Anchorage Field Construction department, reporting to the Construction & Main Supervisor.

Requirements

Knowledge, skill, and ability to operate heavy equipment.
Intermediate knowledge of construction practices and piped distribution systems; ability to perform related tasks.
Ability to work safely.
Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively interact with individuals within and outside of ENSTAR.
Ability to wear and use ENSTAR's approved Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
Ability to be self-directed, perform successfully in a multi-task environment, and effectively contribute individually, or as part of a team.
Apply knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations.
Ability to learn and understand ENSTAR's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Responsibilities

Operate power construction equipment to install gas lines.
Excavate, move, and grade earth; transport and dump loose materials such as brush, stumps, and classified material.
Perform duties related to the installation and maintenance of the gas distribution system, including plastic pipe fusion and pipe wrapping.
Assist in loading pipe onto trucks or trailers.
Assist in unloading shipments of incoming pipe and materials.
Assist in maneuvering fusion or other equipment around job site.
Perform routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
