About The Position

Cenovus’s New Grad Program aims to attract, develop and retain exceptional new grads to build a top talent pipeline for the company. The program provides new grads with a broad understanding of Cenovus’s core business through challenging work assignments, training and development, field exposure and the opportunity to develop a large network of contacts through networking and mentorship opportunities. Our Program consists of three consecutive 12-month rotational assignments that span Cenovus’s varied business areas. Upon completion of the three-year program, you will be matched to a permanent role within the organization. This role will be based on business need and relocation may be required. As an Engineer-in-Training at Cenovus, possible rotations could include: Operations Process / Unit Contact Engineering Process Engineering Facilities Engineering Project Engineering Maintenance & Reliability Integrity Engineering Drilling, Completions & Well Servicing Process and Technical Safety Design / Doc Control All rotations—and your final placement upon graduating from the New Grad Program—will be located in Lloydminster, AB/SK. While the intention is to keep your full program experience based in Lloydminster, there may be business needs or development opportunities that require rotating to another location.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Available to begin work June 2027
  • Must have an undergraduate or graduate Mechanical, Materials, Chemical/Process, or Petroleum Engineering-related degree obtained by May 31, 2027, and completed within the last 2 years (2025, 206, or before May 31, 2027).
  • Must be eligible to register for your Engineer-in-Training designation.
  • Has less than two years of professional experience related to this discipline of study, excluding student experience.
  • Must hold a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Cenovus policies and guidelines (for safety sensitive rotations).
  • Completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments (for safety sensitive rotations).
