The Virtual Infrastructure Engineer III researches, develops, tests, analyzes and documents virtual desktop infrastructure software. In addition, the Virtual Infrastructure Engineer III provides guidance, mentoring, training, and participates in a support on-call rotation facilitating off-hour work functions in support of incidents, upgrades, patches, and project task fulfillment. This role involves coaching and training less experienced engineers, identifying coaching opportunities, and overseeing the work and productivity of junior engineers. The engineer will also create, develop, and oversee projects as needed, assign resources, manage incident distribution, and coordinate major incident response. Responsibilities include tracking and managing budgets, performing discipline and rewards for level I and II employees, managing development plans for staff, managing projects from start to finish, requisitioning equipment and supplies, and assisting with staff scheduling. Additionally, the role involves documenting and submitting new content to the knowledgebase, maintaining the team website, creating process maps, developing framework and processes around problem management, and developing training materials for staff. The engineer will utilize communication skills to address customer needs, build positive working relationships, and respond promptly to customer needs based on severity levels. Proactive service recovery and recognition of opportunities for improvement are also key aspects of this role, along with maintaining a professional appearance and completing IT Governance & IT project job assignments.
