About The Position

You’ll be part of our Retail Metal Storage team as an onsite employee. You’ll get to: Design innovative products that align with high-volume manufacturing capabilities, collaborating closely with Product Management, Operations, and Quality teams. Create and revise engineering drawings, CAD models, and documentation to support both new product development and improvements to existing products. Resolve manufacturing design issues and implement design changes using the ECR/ECN process. Build and maintain engineering bills of materials (BOMs) in SAP, while coordinating with Designers to ensure accurate documentation. Collaborate with the Operations team to estimate product costs and develop cost-effective design solutions. Adhere to formal New Product Development (NPD) processes by conducting DFMEAs and creating DVP&Rs to ensure robust and risk-mitigated designs. Conduct and document engineering design reviews, including the preparation of presentations and technical analysis. Lead cross-functional phase gate reviews to verify that all project deliverables meet defined specifications and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical product design and/or manufacturing, emphasizing Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Proficient in 3D solid modeling and drawing creation with over 5,000 hours of experience, preferably using SolidWorks; experienced in CAD tools and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Demonstrated success in product teardowns, value engineering (VAVE), cost-reduction initiatives, and applying lean manufacturing principles to influence design-driven cost efficiency.
  • Proven project management ability with experience leading medium to large-scale initiatives.

  • PMP certification is a strong plus.
