About The Position

The Engineer (II) role will enable us to expand our technology and capabilities to further support our customers. The role requires a detailed understanding of pilot and commercial equipment process design and operation for the full line of the Company’s products. Under supervision of the Director of Engineering Implementation, this position is responsible for the development of engineering documentation, selection of components, pilot planning and execution, and skid/system building.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical or similar engineering
  • 2- 4 years of industry experience, chemical manufacture or wastewater preferred.
  • Some industry experience in a role involving project management or project engineering for design and installment of a capital system
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot technological issues at partner sites as needed
  • Strong technical know-how, with a jack-of-all-trades attitude
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; experience in a customer-facing role a plus
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development, testing, and optimization of pilot systems for PFAS destruction.
  • Develop engineering documentation required for fabrication of equipment, such as Process Flow Drawings (PFD), Process and Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID), General Arrangement drawings (GA), Bills of Materials (BOM), and similar.
  • Maintain engineering records, design updates, manuals, and change documentation.
  • Work closely with vendors, both in specifying/selecting components.
  • Plan and execute project plans for customer field pilots.
  • Write experimental plans and SOPs.
  • Travel up to 30% for customer field pilots to validate effectiveness of Claros’ PFAS destruction systems on customer wastewater streams; may be required to work extended day or night shifts on pilots
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and engineering issues as they arise during customer field pilots
  • Perform data collection and analysis to evaluate system performance and recommend improvements.
  • Cross-train team members on basic equipment operation and troubleshooting tasks
  • Plan and conduct in-house process and equipment development and testing.
