  • Typically, 3-5 years of relevant experience in electromechanical product design, product maintenance, testing, or mass-production industries.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings; Creo experience is preferred.
  • Experience supporting product testing and evaluation against applicable requirements (UL, CSA, NOM, IEC, CCC, or ANSI).
  • Applied knowledge of engineering fundamentals and the ability to use them to solve routine and non-routine technical problems.
  • Familiarity with metal stamping, thermoset and thermoplastic molding, springs, fasteners, and related manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) techniques.
  • Ability to travel to North American manufacturing plants in the United States and Mexico as required.
  • Collaborative teamwork skills and the ability to contribute effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Critical thinking, structured problem solving, a hands-on mindset, and a proactive approach.

  • Ability to work successfully in a multicultural virtual environment across Design Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing Operations, and other functions.
  • Ability to communicate technical recommendations, build alignment, and constructively influence decisions.
  • Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma Green Belt, problem-solving, or quality-methodology training is a plus.
  • Circuit Breaker or low-voltage electrical distribution product experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to computer-aided engineering tools, such as structural, thermal, or kinematic analysis, is a plus.
  • Training or experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: strength of materials, tolerance analysis, finite element analysis, dynamic or kinematic analysis, thermal or magnetic behavior, heat transfer, or statistical analysis of test data.

Responsibilities

  • Apply methodical problem-solving techniques (e.g., 5 Whys) and tools (e.g., Fishbone Diagram) to investigate and resolve product and manufacturing issues.
  • Create and execute verification and validation of test plans in Schneider Electric laboratories, with general guidance for complex activities.
  • Perform engineering analysis by interpreting thermal, electromagnetic, dynamic, and structural test results to evaluate product performance, quality, and reliability.
  • Support compliance with product ratings, specifications, and applicable standard requirements (UL, CSA, NOM, CCC, and IEC).
  • Synthesize data into clear technical reports that communicate methods, results, conclusions, and recommendations to peers and stakeholders.
  • Execute assigned Circuit Breaker projects and work packages to maintain and optimize the product offer. Track activities, identify risks, and communicate status to internal stakeholders.
  • Execute assigned product design changes, including drawings and bills of materials (BOMs), according to approved technical specifications using engineering software, databases, and 2D/3D CAD systems.
  • Develop design solutions from technical specifications to meet customer expectations, quality goals, cost targets, and supply chain constraints.
  • Support North American Global Supply Chain manufacturing plants with technical investigations and product compliance activities for the assigned product family (e.g., UL 489, IEC, and ANSI).
  • Prepare and support the technical review of deliverables such as PPAP documentation and pilot-run results.
  • Work collaboratively in cross-functional teams to address quality, performance, cost, and productivity objectives.
  • Create and update Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and related risk documentation to reflect product design changes.
  • Provide technical assistance and share knowledge with peers, manufacturing, quality, and other partner functions.
  • Support customer return analysis, root-cause identification, corrective actions, and documentation of findings.
