The Hardware (HW) Engineer designs, develops, documents, and tests electronic hardware for Automatic Meter Reading (AMR)/ Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems. This role involves designing and testing analog and digital circuitry for precision metrology, interfacing with Radio Frequency (RF) communications & embedded computer devices. Circuit design responsibilities include power supplies, serial communication protocols, signal conditioning, RF circuits, transceivers, power management, low power, sensor technologies, small signal, transient protection, mains connections, and microcontroller interfaces. The engineer is responsible for R&D hardware within complete solutions as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with Firmware, Mechanical, and Manufacturing teams in the design, development, and validation of Smart Grid solutions.
