About The Position

As a Project Engineer II here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will design, implement, and manage complex systems, driving innovation, safety, and efficiency. You will work on cutting-edge projects and shape future technology solutions. You will partner with world class engineering and leaders to implement product strategies, develop program schedules and milestones, define technology roadmaps, and drive improvements in engineering quality and productivity. You will work out of Torrance, CA on a Hybrid work schedule. NO relocation offered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • Minimum 2 years of related engineering experience (post-graduate education can substitute for work experience).
  • Ability to drive small teams (1-3 subject matter experts) to execute technical engineering tasks.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of systems or project engineering experience in the aerospace industry
  • Experience with procurement or other supply chain functions
  • Specific experience in any of the following is a major differentiator: supply chain, hardware management, environmental control systems, vapor cycle systems, air cycle systems, thermal management systems, fuel tank inerting systems, system architecture, turbomachines, heat exchangers, power electronics, or controls
  • Create relevant action plans that bring value to our internal or external customers
  • Project management experience particularly familiarity with Earned Value Management and Integrated Master Schedules
  • Test experience including developing test plans, writing test procedures, overseeing test execution, experience with acceptance test procedures, experience with DO-160 and/or MIL-STD 810 environmental testing
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events
  • Ability to lead small teams to execute requirements validation and verification activities
  • Ability to convey complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience
  • Excellent communication skills to all audiences
  • Microsoft Office mastery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the procurement and tracking of system hardware to support the development and qualification test campaign
  • Coordinate and manage the buyers, planners, government stores, hardware coordinators, and other Integrated Supply Chain functions.
  • Create and maintain a detailed hardware tracking schedule.
  • Ability to be the “Squeaky Wheel” and keep pressure on other groups to deliver to the schedule.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Support system architecture trades.
  • Risk/opportunity development and management.
  • Project execution and performance management.
