Requirements

  • Associates degree in Engineering, Industrial Automation, Information Technology, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree required.
  • Requires basic understanding of programming and configuration of programmable logic controllers (PLC) as well as human machine interfaces (HMI).
  • Requires intermediate computer knowledge including an understanding of some of IP networking, SQL databases, Windows Server and Domain management, or use of command line applications such as Telnet.
  • Requires a basic understanding of electrical systems including ability to read electrical schematics and use a multimeter.
  • Two (2+) years of experience in programming, Ethernet networking, industrial maintenance, or electrical engineering.
  • Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Office environment with frequent field exposure.
  • Occasional travel is required to facilities outside the Phoenix-metro area.

  • Requires intermediate to advanced computer knowledge including an understanding of some or all of IP networking, SQL databases, Windows Server and Domain management, and use of command line applications such as Telnet.
  • Comfortable working on electrical systems including ability to red-line electrical schematics, interpret P&IDs, and troubleshoot digital and analog signals using multimeters and process meters.
  • Four (4+) years of experience with design, programming, commissioning, and maintenance of process control systems.
  • Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Office environment with frequent field exposure.
  • Occasional travel is required to facilities outside the Phoenix-metro area.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Wonderware HMIs preferred.
  • Some experience providing field support to internal or external customers preferred.
  • Experience with data communication networks such as Ethernet/IP or radio telemetry is a plus.
  • Cybersecurity knowledge including familiarity with firewalls and network segmentation concepts such as a DMZ is a plus.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and Wonderware HMIs preferred.
  • Some experience providing field support to operations or maintenance teams preferred.
  • Experience with data communication networks including Ethernet/IP and radio telemetry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support for operations personnel to ensure that process control systems continue to meet operational requirements efficiently and reliably as directed.
  • Perform maintenance activities on process control equipment or systems.
  • Assist other Instrumentation & Controls Engineers with the design, review, and implementation of process control systems.
  • Interact with contractors and support installation of process control equipment.
  • Develop knowledge of company standards and industry best practices in process control systems. Increase capabilities through job assignments and technical training.
  • Provide day-to-day support for operations personnel to ensure that process control systems continue to meet operational requirements efficiently and reliably.
  • Lead the design, review, and implementation of process control systems.
  • Oversee and coordinate contractor installations of process control equipment. Manage occasional contractor projects including scoping and bidding of work.
  • Identify and purchase equipment needed for ongoing process control system maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the Instrumentation & Controls team to develop and implement company standards and industry best practices in process control systems.
