About The Position

Austin Community College (ACC) is seeking a highly skilled Endpoint Engineer to manage, automate, and support enterprise endpoint environments across the college. This role blends systems administration, automation, and security to deliver a stable, modern, and secure endpoint computing environment for faculty and staff. The Endpoint Engineer will own deployment, configuration, lifecycle management, and integrations with TeamDynamix and other ITSM tools, supporting ACC’s mission of reliable technology and student success.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
  • Customer service techniques and practices.
  • Understanding of relational database theory.
  • Database development and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with CAD software.
  • Knowledge of various programming and scripting languages.
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills, with a collaborative and customer-focused approach.
  • Experience using an ITSM platform such as TeamDynamix or ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of modern MDM and endpoint management strategies.
  • Experience integrating enterprise endpoint platforms with ITSM tools.
  • Experience with endpoint lifecycle management, security compliance, and platform integration.
  • TeamDynamix, ServiceNow, or other service management platforms.
  • Python or other automation tools.
  • Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and device and asset management integrations.
  • Additional scripting or automation skills such as Ruby or PHP.
  • Bachelor's degree. Four years of related work experience may substitute for this education requirement. Applicants who substitute work experience to meet the education requirement must use additional related work experience to meet the years of "Required Work Experience" for this position.
  • Two years of related work experience.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation for inter-campus duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree, or at least 5 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Three or more years of hands-on experience managing either Windows or macOS endpoints in a large environment, with working familiarity of the other platform.
  • Previous experience in higher education or public sector IT preferred.
  • Microsoft 365 Modern Desktop Administrator or similar.
  • JAMF 200/300 or similar, ITIL Foundation, Okta, or comparable certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, engineer, and support the college’s endpoint environments using enterprise endpoint management and device management platforms.
  • Automate deployments, patching, application distribution, and endpoint compliance using scripting and automation tools.
  • Integrate and maintain endpoint management tools with TeamDynamix and other ITSM platforms for device inventory, asset management, ticketing, and workflow automation.
  • Manage the device lifecycle, including onboarding, support, secure decommissioning, and asset tracking.
  • Provide Tier 3 & 4 support for endpoint issues and serve as an escalation point for support teams.
  • Collaborate with IT security, support teams, and college stakeholders to drive process improvement, documentation, and compliance.
  • Stay current on endpoint management best practices, emerging technologies, and higher education IT trends.
  • Design, build, and maintain standardized endpoint deployment processes, ensuring secure, efficient, and consistent device configurations.
  • Automate endpoint management tasks, patch cycles, software rollouts, and compliance reporting.
  • Support and optimize integrations with TeamDynamix for asset, incident, and change management.
  • Partner with collegewide business owners, development teams, and technology leaders to ensure effective endpoint governance, policy enforcement, and process automation.
  • Document procedures, provide user guides, and deliver training as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service and proactive communication to faculty, staff, and IT partners.
  • Manage and support Windows endpoint environments using MECM/SCCM, Workspace ONE, Intune, and related tools.
  • Build and maintain Windows 10/11 desktop and laptop images using MDT and Hyper-V.
  • Automate Windows deployments and endpoint management using PowerShell and enterprise deployment tools.
  • Manage Windows update and patch cycles, driver libraries, firmware updates, and baseline software deployment.
  • Enforce Windows configuration and security policies using Active Directory Group Policy, BitLocker, Azure AD, and endpoint protection tools.
  • Provide Tier 3 support for Windows endpoint issues and manage the Windows device lifecycle.
  • Manage and support macOS endpoint environments using JAMF Pro, Apple Business Manager, Workspace ONE, and related tools.
  • Administer macOS provisioning, application packaging, and zero-touch deployment.
  • Write and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, and AppleScript.
  • Manage FileVault encryption, endpoint protection, and compliance enforcement through JAMF and MDM policies.
  • Provide Tier 3 support for complex macOS endpoint issues and manage the macOS device lifecycle.
